"Insuroll" Insulated roller shutter doors are suitable for internal and external openings in a wide range of applications such as warehouses, industrial units, garages, workshops, spray booths, bus depots, agricultural buildings etc

Insulated Roller Shutters

Neway Doors Limited manufacture Insulated Roller Shutter Doors with 3-phase Electric operation only.

The doors provide insulation whilst retaining the standard roller shutter drive system, which is easy to install and maintain.

Conserve heat and reduce noise

The design of the Insulated lath complete with the CFC free polystyrene infill helps to maintain a comfortable working environment by ensuring heat leaving the building is kept to a minimum and also acts as a barrier to prevent cold air entering the building. Giving a "U" value of 0.69 w/m2k and an acoustic value of 18dBA.

Operation

As standard, all doors are supplied with a 3-phase foot mounted direct drive electrically operated motor with a hand chain facility, supplied complete with a separate unit incorporating up, down and stop buttons dependant on size with larger doors having a sprocket and chain driven system.

Low Maintenance

The design characteristics of the insulated roller shutter door ensure that it is virtually maintenance free. In the event of accidental damage, the unique twin skinned design enables a quick and easy repair. The insulated roller shutter door combines an aesthetically pleasing appearance with energy efficiency, robust construction and reliability, all at a very competitive price.

Electrical and Fixing requirements

A three-phase neutral power supply is required within a fused isolator within approximately 1000mm of the opening requiring a 16amp, 5-pin plug.

The doors require a minimum 50mm face to fit the support angles to, with 140mm side room required at the plain end and 380mm side room required at the motor end. This can be reduced to 140mm at each end with an in-board motor facility in the event of limited space.

The standard actuation method is via an up, down and stop push button station. A manual override continuous haul chain is provided for use in the event of a power failure. An Insulated electrically operated roller shutter door can be fitted with any one of a combination of the actuation devices or safety features, as detailed below.

Important note: When automating a roller shutter door it is also recommended that one of the following safety features is also included, to help prevent the door automatically closing on any obstruction / personnel.

Door Construction

Top barrel lath
The galvanised steel pre-punched top barrel lath section is specifically designed to connect twin interlocked insulaed skins to a 127mm (5") barrel and is protected by design right. The top barrel lath significantly reduces curtain wrap size.

Roller Barrel assembly
Constructed from mild steel tube of a suitable outside diameter and wall thickness to suit the shutter application.
As standard, the barrel is un-sprung and works on a direct drive system through the motor dependant on size of the door.

Endplates
Mild steel endplates of varying thickness to support the roller barrel assembly.
The plates are supplied with a slotted section to enable ease of installation of the barrel assembly and are pre-drilled to accept the fitting of the motor bearing bracket.

Guide channel
The door is supplied with wind lock "style" insulated guides complete with 100mm x 50mm x 5mm continuous pre galvanised angles. The guides are supplied complete with a unique self-locking feature that connects a plastic double brush strip carrier to the guide complete with brush strip seals to significantly reduce the noise of operation and increase the insulation value.

Curtain
Each section is a uniquely dimensioned twin skinned interlocking lath section incorporating a triple ribbed face providing increased rigidity.
Each twin skinned lath section is retained with a nylon endlock to prevent lateral movement.

Bottom Carrier and Seal
A galvanised steel bottom seal carrier is fitted to the bottom section of lath complete with a specially designed bottom rubber seal to ensure that the door is effectively sealed once in the closed position.

Motor
The directly driven motor assembly is designed specifically to slide onto the keywayed shaft fitted into the roller barrel assembly to enable ease of fixing the the roller shutter door endplates and to ensure that the motor is fitted "square" to enable correct operation of the direct drive system.

Additional Extras

Vision Panels
Single or multiple clear polycarbonate vision panels complete with rubbed seals can be fitted within the insulated lath sections to enable vision through the door.

Wicket doors
Installed on either side of the curtain a wicket door provides safe and secure pedestrian access through the Insulated roller shutter door when lowered. The whole assembly is independently side hung and swings clear when the Insulated roller shutter door requires raising. The door is manufactured from welded section and fitted with Insulated shutter laths to match the rest of the curtain. Standard fittings include a ball type catch and night latch lock. An interlock switch prevents operation when the wicket door is in position.

Hoods / Fascias / Soffit panels / Motor Covers
A casing box that is manufactured from galvanised or plastisol steel sheet to cover the coil and protect the curtain and barrel from the elements. Front fascia and soffit panels are also available to conceal the coil assembly. The motor cover can be supplied either with or without a hinge to allow access to the emergency haul chain.

Controls
All Insulated roller shutter doors can be fitted with a wide variety of controls such as:-
Key switches
External control buttons
Induction Loops
Radars
Remote Radio controls

Finishes
The curtain is available in a range of finishes including, galvanised, plastisol or aluminium.
The curtain can be powder coated to any standard RAL or BS number which may also be applied to other components of the door i.e, Guides, bottom rail, barrel and motor cover.
The standard plastisol finishes available are: white, ocean blue, solent blue, poppy red, goosewing grey, vandyke brown and aztec yellow with other colours available upon request.

Insulated sectional 'up and over' doors
Insulated Sectional 'up and over' doors are an ideal alternative to roller shutter doors where temperature control between environments is of importance. Manual or electrically operated doors can be employed with an insulation 'U' value 0.44W/m2K.
